Title: Louis XIII & Anne of Austria French Court Costume Lithograph, 1847

Description: A beautifully hand-colored French lithograph depicting King Louis XIII of France and Queen Anne of Austria in elegant court dress, representing the year 1636.

The royal couple is presented within a richly engraved ornamental border featuring cherubs, floral garlands, classical masks, and elaborate Rococo-inspired decoration. Louis XIII is portrayed in a refined black court suit with an elaborate lace collar, while Anne of Austria wears a graceful white and violet gown adorned with delicate lace, jewelry, and period accessories. The composition beautifully illustrates the transition from late Renaissance fashion into the grandeur of the early Baroque court.

Published in Paris by Rittner & Goupil, this print forms part of the celebrated Costumes du Quadrille Historique, Bals de l'Opéra series. Produced for the fashionable historical costume balls held at the Paris Opéra during the mid-19th century, these hand-colored lithographs are admired for their historical accuracy, decorative quality, and exceptional craftsmanship.

This example retains its original hand coloring and remains a striking decorative piece despite visible age-related wear. It is particularly suitable for collectors of French history, royal portraiture, costume design, theatre, opera, and European decorative arts.
