Warrior customs of the peoples of North America, an original engraving with hand coloring from Francesco Costantino Marmocchi's Atlante di geografia storica universale, published in 1845. The sheet is lettered "Etnografia" at the top and "Costumi Guerrieri de' popoli dell' America Nord" at the foot, with the atlas plate numbers in the upper corners.

Three scenes are stacked on the page, each with an Italian caption. The first, "Ceremonia usata dai guerrieri prima della battaglia", shows a painted warrior in a feathered headdress dancing before a fire as a crowd of seated warriors looks on. The second, "Trofei dopo una Vittoria", shows armed men in front of a line of poles hung with trophies and a group of seated captives. In the third, "Le Vedove di un guerriero estinto supplicanti a piedi del vincitore", a tattooed warrior with a club stands over kneeling women. The coloring is in soft reds, greens and yellows.

The scenes reflect European ideas about the peoples of North America in the early nineteenth century.
