Ten figures in the dress of the Spanish American countryside, a chromolithograph from Albert Racinet's Le Costume Historique, published in Paris by Firmin Didot about 1880. The sheet is lettered "America, Amérique, America" across the top, numbered 101 at the upper right, and carries the credit "Brandin lith." at the lower left.

The figures are arranged in two bands of five men and women set against a pale ground. Almost all of them wear the poncho: woven in broad stripes and diamond patterns in red, blue, yellow and ochre in the upper row, and in plainer tones of brown, green and gray in the lower. The hats vary between pointed gray felt, wide brims and a yellow kerchief, and several of the men carry long staffs and wear spurs on their boots. Others have white drawers showing below their ponchos. The figures are drawn in profile or three-quarter view with clear outlines and flat bright colors.

The plate belongs to Racinet's survey of historical costume, where this sheet shows the dress of the ranch and pampas peoples, though the sheet gives no precise country.
